Joyce's Story

The woman behind the name

Ms. Joyce Davis- Bowers was a wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many but also a lover of people. Joyce better known as JD at times struggled with addiction for over 30 years that had her family in shambles. While in her addiction, Joyce provided housing to other users, watched their children when she felt their parent wasn't attentive, empowered young women to stop the lifestyle of using drugs and prostitution. On December 17th, 2001, Joyce gave up drugs and alcohol for good. She dedicated the rest of her days to becoming a public servant, rebuilding her family, reconnection with her religion and most importantly staying sober. Joyce Davis departed this life on November 22nd, 2015 at the young age of 58 years old. She left behind a legacy to love people and help to the world become a better place.
